Potters Bar thieves strike four times in one day
Giving four families a disappointing start to the festive season, thieves were able to get a head start on their own Christmas ‘shopping’ when they ran off with items such as a gold Citizen Eco-Drive watch, a Michael Kors watch, jewellery and cash.
The break-ins took place between 8:30am and 6:10pm in four different streets on thursday 30th November in Potters Bar, and the group even attempted a fifth break in, but they were challenged and ran off.
A spokesman for the local police commented, “The number of burglaries often increase during the autumn and winter, because homes are left unlit when the afternoons grow darker. Burglars will always target empty homes so make sure your home has a lived in look. Hertfordshire Constabulary recommends using timer switches on a lamp, radio or TV set so that they turn on as it gets dark in the afternoons.”
